Terry Hickey – Managing Director
As part of the second generation of directors, Terry brings a high level of expertise to the directorship and to the organization. Coming through the ranks he has spent many years with the company as a Project Manager and has the technical experience and grounding in the culture of the organization to complement that enthusiasm. His main competencies include Engineering, Industrial Electrical Automation, High Voltage, and Hazardous Projects. Terry Hickey is also Licensed Electrical Inspector and currently sits on the Australian Standards Wiring Rules Committee EL-001 for AS/NZS 3000.
Neville Palmer – Founding partner
As Chief Financial Officer and founding partner, Neville has contributed a wide range of skills over the developing years of Gordyn & Palmer Pty Ltd. He has been responsible for management, administration, quality control and client services. A key to added value in the company has been Neville’s attention to the development of High & Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems, Manufacturing, and Commissioning in the mining industry. His commitment to quality products and high standards of customer service has helped establish the firm’s strong reputation in the national and global markets.
Neville has been an integral part of NECA Victoria for the past 18 years, serving as a board member, then treasurer, vice president and eventually president.
His executive commitments on the National Committee for NECA – The National Electrical and Communications Association which he was appointed the Presidential position for a total of four years.
Laurens Gordyn – Founding partner
As Research and Software Development Manager and founding partner, Laurens contributes to strengths in the field of industrial automation showing the ability to provide simple process solutions as well as complex system solutions that match the sophistication of any in the market. His innovative development and application of computer systems is a fundamental strength in the firm’s management and manufacturing activities for well over 30 years. His ability to listen to customers, identify their exact requirements and then empower his staff to design, manufacture and install quality systems that set the bench mark in automation.
George Boloutis – Automation Systems Manager
Joining Gordyn & Palmer in 1993 George has established himself as a key driver in the direction, development, implementation and service of the full array of G&P automation products. Having the qualifications of Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical (Hons) and with over twenty years’ experience in the industrial automation field, George is well placed to provide customers with integrated automation solutions.
George’s experience over many years as a front line Application Engineer, which includes extensive onsite commissioning, has provided the knowledge for implementation of both the simple and highly complex systems.
Joanne Flood – Chief Financial Officer
Joanne joined Gordyn & Palmer in 2012 as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Joanne is a CPA with over 20 years’ experience in business finance both here and overseas, including 6 years in the stock feed industry with Alltech Biotechnology as Asia Pacific Financial Controller. Her role is twofold: to safeguard the financial health of the company and also provide information to help the team measure performance and make informed decisions.
Ian Denny – Project Manager
Ian Joined Gordyn & Palmer after careers in ECNZ & Electrix NZ Ltd Power Station and Substation services section in 2001. After many years in the service department, Ian was promoted to Assistant Service Manager and in 2010 to Project Manager. Ian is qualified and has extensive experience in Hazardous Location installations. He is also a qualified High Voltage operator with over 10 years’ experience and has successfully completed the Electrocomms Management Program. Ian is charged with the efficient delivery of projects and he and his team was directly responsible for the 2010 NECA award to Gordyn & Palmer.
Helen Workman – Engineering Manager
Joining Gordyn & Palmer in 2014, Helen brings over twenty years of engineering experience from a variety of engineering companies and industries. Graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical (Hons), her project experience in multi-discipline engineering teams, and her interactions with management, project control, procurement, construction and finance teams has provided valuable insight into inter-departmental relationships and effective communication. Her exposure to procedures and systems assists her in implementing best practice with regards to the control and quality of documentation produced by the engineering team; and the ongoing process of capturing and incorporating change during the life of the project.
Jodi Dorrington – Office Manager
As an Office Manager, Jodi Dorrington’s main responsibilities are taking care of the accounts, while running the day to day business of the office. Jodi has been a long serving member of the Gordyn & Palmer team, now adding up to over 15 years’ of service. She has undergone the ElectroComms Management Program, along with all of our managers, which has provided her with sound knowledge in financial management, sales and marketing, strategic planning and leadership and management.
Mariyan Volovic – Manager Sheetmetal Department
Mariyan joined Gordyn & Palmer in 1990 after a successful career at Butler Electrics and UMK. As a craftsman in the metal work area, Mariyan has stamped a very high level of quality throughout the Sheetmetal division. Operating as McKenzie Thompson Sheetmetal, this wholly owned division of Gordyn & Palmer stands for quality in custom made Switchboards and Sheetmetal manufacture. Mariyan was appointed Manager of the McKenzie Thompson division in 1994 and with his extensive experience, has allowed Gordyn & Palmer to offer and end to end solution for our customers.
Michelle Gordyn – Work Place Health & Safety Manager
With 25 years administrative experience with Gordyn & Palmer, Michelle supports staff in areas of WH&S, industry compliance and employee relations.
